UTStarcom, China Telecom Team up for IPTV Service in Shanxi, China

On January 24, UTStarcom announced that it has signed an agreement with China Telecom, according to which UTStarcom's RollingStream IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) solution will be used in a new commercial IPTV network in China's Shanxi province. The service will provide up to 80 channels of live TV broadcasting, 10,000 hours of video on demand programming, karaoke, and gaming. The service will initially have 30,000 subscribers. Financial details of this agreement were not disclosed.
